At Work

As a passionate advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, Stacey J. Dembo has dedicated her practice to representing adults and children with disabilities in Social Security Disability and/or SSI benefit cases. After practicing with a Chicago-area Social Security Disability firm for several years, Stacey formed the Law Offices of Stacey J. Dembo, LLC in 2014. Stacey strives to provide vigorous, compassionate, and empathetic representation for people with disabilities in Social Security matters.  She has successfully represented more than 1000 individuals in their claims.  

In the Profession

Stacey is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR). Stacey formerly served as the chairperson and vice-chairperson of the Chicago Bar Association's Social Security Law Committee.  

Stacey is also a frequent speaker on Social Security related topics to other lawyers and community groups. She has given grand rounds to medical professionals at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  She frequently presents to school groups as well.  Stacey's speaking engagements have included the following:

Stacey was designated as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, a distinction given to only 2.5% of lawyers in the state.  In 2024, Stacey was designated as an Illinois Super Lawyer..  

In the Community

Stacey is a firm believer in the importance of giving back to the community. She volunteers frequently within the community, providing legal services on a pro bono basis to people with disabilities, Holocaust survivors and other low income individuals. Stacey volunteers with CARPLS, Equip for Equality, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and the Jewish United Fund (JUF) Evelyn R. Greene Legal Services Clinic.  In 2019, Stacey was honored by JUF with the Davis, Gidwitz & Glasser Young Leadership Award.
